The workshop “WIDERA FOR BEGINNERS” was successfully held at the University College “CEPS – Center for Business Studies” Kiseljak on 10 July 2026 as part of the activities of the NCP_WIDERA.NET project. The workshop brought together a large number of participants from private companies, non-governmental organizations, public institutions, and the academic community, confirming the growing interest in European Union programmes related to research, innovation, and institutional development.
The workshop was delivered by the National Contact Point (NCP) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mirzo Selimić, who introduced participants to the main features of the Horizon Europe programme, with particular emphasis on the WIDERA component, including its objectives, programme structure, funding opportunities, and eligibility conditions for institutions from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the workshop, participants had the opportunity to learn about the proposal preparation process, identifying relevant calls, common challenges in preparing applications, and practical tips for improving the quality of project proposals. Special attention was given to finding international partners through Brokerage Events (BEs), networking and consortium-building strategies, as well as the possibility of external expert pre-screening of project proposals before official submission.
The workshop concluded with an open discussion and exchange of experiences among participants, highlighting the importance of such activities for strengthening the capacities of institutions and organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina for more successful participation in Horizon Europe and WIDERA programmes. CEPS will continue to organize educational and informational events aimed at developing research, innovation, and international project capacities in the future.
