From 17 to 21 November 2025, the University College CEPS Kiseljak hosted a coaching visit by experts from the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (HNEE), Germany. The first day began with an introductory meeting with the KHCS coordinator, the project team, and CEPS staff, during which the results and activities of KHCS from the previous year were presented. This was followed by a tour of the hub and practical training cabinets, as well as a discussion on achievements to date and areas requiring additional support. It was emphasized that the hub offers good conditions for mentoring and research activities, while further strengthening of digital capacities and functionalities was recommended to enhance services for students, partners, and the local community.
On the second day, a joint meeting was held with academic and administrative staff, students, and representatives of the municipality and the NGO sector. HNEE representative Franziska Rottig presented strategic ideas for strengthening and improving KHCS operations, which opened a discussion on potential research projects, collaboration opportunities, and ways to improve the hub’s visibility. Key conclusions highlighted the need to strengthen joint research between CEPS and industry, broaden hub accessibility to different stakeholder groups, and enhance promotion through digital channels.
The third and fourth days of the visit were dedicated to teaching activities delivered by Franziska Rottig. During the lectures “Importance of Sustainable Tourism” and “Sustainable Destination Development”, participants explored concepts of sustainable tourism, climate-related challenges, and models for developing sustainable destinations. Group work and discussions encouraged the exchange of experiences, particularly in the context of the limited application of climate-responsive and circular practices in the tourism sector of Bosnia and Herzegovina, underscoring the need for further education and capacity building.
On the final day, CEPS and HNEE teams jointly defined concrete recommendations and next steps to strengthen KHCS in the areas of visibility, cooperation with industry, enhancement of research activities, and student involvement through internships, events, and projects. The proposed measures aim to further connect academia and industry and ensure that KHCS continues to grow as an inclusive and open platform for knowledge, innovation, and collaboration.
CEPS remains fully committed to strengthening international cooperation, improving the quality of education, and fostering knowledge that contributes to the sustainable development of the community and society as a whole.
