Students of the University College “CEPS – Center for Business Studies” Kiseljak, Dario Šušnja and Vedad Šahić, were selected to participate in an international practical training (internship) at Firat University in Elazığ, Republic of Türkiye, within the RES-UNI project, following their outstanding performance in the final assessment. The practical training was implemented over a period of five (5) days, from 23 to 29 November 2025, and, in addition to CEPS students, included students from partner higher education institutions.
During the training, students successfully completed the planned practical activities and acquired valuable knowledge and skills in the field of digital transformation, working in an international academic environment, and applying theoretical knowledge in practice. The costs of travel, accommodation, meals, and a daily allowance for the students were fully covered by the project.
The students expressed a high level of satisfaction with the implemented practical training, emphasizing its importance for professional development, strengthening practical competencies, and understanding the value of international cooperation in higher education.
Below are their personal experiences from the practical training.
Dario Šušnja:
“I spent seven days in Türkiye, in the city of Elazığ at Firat University, where I took part in a digital transformation internship within the RES-UNI ERASMUS+ Capacity Building project. Through workshops and lectures, we learned the basics of coding, website development and design, HTML, and various AI tools that facilitate our work and the creation of new digital solutions. What I liked most was that everything we learned could immediately be connected to practical examples. I found it particularly interesting to see how digital transformation can be integrated into the field of traffic and transport, which is directly related to my studies. In addition to the educational part, we had the opportunity to visit the natural beauties of Elazığ, museums, and historical and cultural landmarks. The city and its surroundings have a special charm, and through these visits I became more familiar with Turkish culture. During those seven days, I met many kind, open, and genuinely good people. Their warmth and hospitality made me feel at home.”
Vedad Šahić:
“My internship in Elazığ was honestly an incredible experience. The city itself is beautiful, and the atmosphere was excellent. Everyone was so kind and willing to help, which made the entire trip truly special. The professors and staff who accompanied us were very supportive and approachable. They shared a great deal of useful knowledge and practical advice that will certainly help me in the future. I also had the opportunity to work with amazing people, made many new friends, and connected with others in a way I will always remember. One of the highlights for me was the visit to Firat University. It was a real honor to spend time there and learn more about modern technologies, including various AI tools such as Cursor. This truly opened my eyes and motivated me to engage more deeply with technology. We also had time to explore Elazığ itself, which is a beautiful city rich in culture. From the moment we arrived, it left a strong impression on me. I would also like to thank my University College CEPS for giving me this opportunity and supporting me throughout the entire process. This internship helped me grow both personally and professionally, and it is an experience for which I will be forever grateful.”
This was only the first cycle of practical training for students within the RES-UNI project, with two more to follow, one in Poland and the other in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
